The Royal Photographic Society's Members Exhibition

Venue: Museum of Lancashire
Discover the diverse styles and techniques adopted, and the high quality of work of the Royal Photographic Society Members. This Members' Exhibition was set up in 2003 as a response to requests for an exclusive members' show and also to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Society. It now takes place every two years giving visitors the opportunity to view over 100 prints from across the globe which have been selected by Fellows of The Society and members of the Exhibitions Committee. These prints showcase the diverse range of work of the members whilst demonstrating their commitment to the art of photography.
The Royal Photographic Society is the foremost Photographic Society in the world. It was founded in 1853, when photography was in its infancy, and has been a leading force in its advancement ever since. During its long history it has maintained a strong and committed membership worldwide. Its aim, as an Educational Charity is to promote the art of cience of photography.

Would you like to spend a week learning how to photograph nature?
Based in the beautiful setting of the Scottish Highlands,
Margaret and John Sixsmith are running two courses at Kindrogan Field Study Centre near Pitlochry, Perthshire in 2008.
The courses are designed for beginners in nature photography but those with more experience are very welcome.
From close-up to long lens work, there is a wealth of subjects around Kindrogan to practise the many techniques that will be shown.
Please note that many aspects of nature photography require working at low levels. Also there will be extended periods of sitting still and quiet in a hide. The ability to walk up to 2 miles, sometimes on steep and uneven ground, is required to get the most out of the course.
